Light Born from Love

On August 17, 2017 we welcomed our third baby, Saylor Grace, into the world. Five months earlier we had been given the fatal diagnosis that Saylor had anencephaly. Knowing that our time together would be short, we were able to gather special memory-making keepsakes. The love and joy we experienced while taking her handprint and wrapping her in her own special blanket will last forever. And since then those tangible items have served as a physical reminder of our precious time with Saylor.

Shortly after Saylor’s funeral we realized that many families have no warning that their baby won’t be coming home. That realization sparked a fire: we would use Saylor’s life as a light to help others. By providing grieving families with items that allow them to make memories with their baby in the short time they have together, we could help them navigate through loss.

To that end we began donating memory boxes to our local hospital in 2017. Today, Saylor’s Light donates boxes to over 50 hospitals, doctors' offices, and pregnancy resource centers across the country in the hope of comforting families and reminding them they are not alone in this heart-wrenching journey.
